Sin. Do you ever think about what that word actually means? So Jeremy is always telling us to look up the word if you really don’t know what it means. Sin-any reprehensible or regrettable action, behavior, lapse, etc.; great fault or offense. You are born with this nature and you do it everyday.
People look down on christians..they think we are perfect and never do anything wrong. Well Regis, is that the right answer? I’m sorry your incorrect. If you actually think that, then look at my life or any other christian’s life. You’ll soon find out that your very wrong. My life is never perfect and I live a sinful life.
My favorite song “East to West”, by Castiong Crowns is so awesome! They speak about sin and how its a struggle day by day. “I start the day the war begins
endless reminding of my sin”, as soon as you fall asleep you are sinning until the next day to fall asleep again. You can pray to God to help you with your sins and for him to protect your thoughts and your actions but you’ll sins will never go away until the day you are with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Oh! That brings me hope and joy that he’ll be returning US!!!!
In Psalms 103:12 it says: As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
I love talking to God..Its amazing how you feel after you talk to him. Like every-time I’m in the car, i just burst out either praising him or lifting up to him. So today as I was driving to my class, I just felt the urge to tell him everything. The good and the bad! I felt God coming over me and at the time I was listening to Kutless. By the way their CD is amazing. Its their worship CD, and half the time I don’t even care for them but today was different. The one song that stuck out the most for me was “Ready for You”. Look at the lyrics:
Lord, You take my heart away with Your love
and I am willing to put on my faith in Your plan.Come and take my life.
Make my soul refreshed in truth now.I am ready for You.
Take my heart and make me new now.
I am ready for You
to come and fill my soul.Cleanse all of my mind that is not of You.
Break me, teaching me how to find rest in Your hands.Whatever it takes,
I’m needing to make Your will be done
and I’m letting go of my control,
for I see what You’ve done in me.
This song was an eye opener for me..also it goes hand in hand of what I’m learning in my Experiencing God class. “Whatever it takes, I’m needing to make your will be done” That line is absolutely TRUE! This is Gods plan, not yours. He’s in control, not us.Its just so perfect how God works out situations for you. If God can simply heal people, just think what he can do for you and how he can work in your life. Just ask any Christian.
I’m taking the Experiencing God class with Terri Sanders on Sunday Nights. I’m hoping that God will give me direction in where I’m suppose to go with my life. Going into this class I was expecting it to be easy. Let me just say that the work is easy but keeping up with it everyday is so hard. Sometimes I don’t even get home until like 11 at night and Satan is definitely trying to make me not do it. One week down, and 12 more to go. I’m actually really excited to see what God has in plan for me this week. Last week, he showed me that you have to put your life aside for him in order for him to show you anything. I’m definitely going to have to make some changes around here in order for me to listen fro God. Yes, Jeremy that means I’m putting the cell phone away for when I’m doing any devotions or reading the bible or even when I’m having a conversation with someone. The cell phone is a huge distraction for me! Yeah your right, its definitely rude to have it out or playing with it when your either hanging out with someone or on a date. But anyways, I really do want to hear God and want to see what he has in stored for me!
Another thing I got out of last weeks devotion is that you should have no worries in your life. God will take care of them for you. Pastor Mike was teaching a lesson a couple weeks ago, and he told me something that I never knew. Worrying is a sin. That’s really hard for me because I worry about EVERYTHING!! In Matthew 6:34 it says: 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.So, I definitely agree with this because its all YOU can do.
I’ve been pondering this question for a couple days now..Does God give us trials for when we have back slid or have turned in the wrong direction?
John 13:3 says: [That] Jesus, knowing (fully aware) that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was [now] returning to God,
Yes, I definitely believe so because we all slip sometime’s and we get off track. I know firsthand because being 19 years old and juggling college, work, friends, boys, and family time is very stressful and yes your mind wonders away from God. You think that you can handle it but for me is just stresses me out so much. Of course I want to be close to God, I mean its always been a desire but its so easy to stray away. For example, I know that a couple of friends of mine use to go to church all the time and was close to God, but then their social life became more important to them then God, God began to fade away from their lives. Then an unexpected accident happened to two boys that took their lives and shocked everyone in the community. Prayer was a huge impact for everyone and their families. God knew everyone’s heart before this major event and He knew exactly what He was doing when He took those two boys out of this world. Even though it brought sadness and many tears..but it also brought many people back into the word of God and to Him. Lives were changed because of these two boys. God knows exactly what is in stored for each of us and he expects us to return to him.
